The descent of thousands of squawking, inky black crows on a small Ohio town inspired Mansfield Art Center’s edgy and unforgettable CrowFest, Sept. 19-Oct. 18.
MANSFIELD, OH, UNITED STATES, August 28, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Conjuring up eerie images of Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds,” the bizarre experience of witnessing the annual return of thousands of crows and their ear-splitting cacophony to the forest of Mansfield Art Center inspired CrowFest, a one-of-a-kind fall festival that runs Sept. 19-Oct. 18 in Mansfield, OH. CrowFest celebrates the Center’s annual avian visitors through fine art in an incredible exhibition of hundreds of original works by a variety of artists, each inspired by the return each year of thousands of the inky black bird as they migrate for the winter.
Such massive flocks of crows are known as a “murder,” further cementing their reputation as gothic art symbols and harbingers of bad omens. The Sept. 19 opening includes food and treats from vendors and craft beer from local favorite Phoenix Brewing. Interestingly Phoenix Brewing has its own macabre history, being housed in a former mortuary.
