Moderne, the Agent Tools company for AI-driven software engineering, today announced the appointment of Matt “Fink” Finkelstein as Chief Partnerships Officer. Finkelstein joins from GitHub, where he spent more than ten years building the partner, services, and Microsoft go-to-market programs that took the first generation of AI developer tools into the enterprise. At Moderne, he will scale the partner ecosystem that brings AI agent tools into production across enterprise software environments.
Enterprises are deploying AI coding agents across their software estates, and the productivity opportunity is moving from individual developer gains to organization-wide impact. Capturing that opportunity at scale requires the right tools for AI agents to operate accurately and consistently inside complex enterprise environments. That is what Moderne provides.
Built on the OpenRewrite open-source project, the Moderne Platform provides the deterministic, governed infrastructure coding agents need to reason accurately, act consistently, and deliver outcomes across complex codebases.
“Enterprise software environments are complex, and partnerships are how Moderne delivers deterministic agent tools into production at scale,” said Jonathan Schneider, CEO and co-founder of Moderne. “Fink is the right leader to scale that motion.”
Finkelstein spent over ten years at GitHub, joining as a channel account manager and rising to Vice President of Global Microsoft, Partner & Services Solution Sales. He led GitHub’s Microsoft joint sales motion, with responsibility for driving co-sell revenue in the field in close partnership with Microsoft and the broader partner ecosystem. He also led GitHub’s global services and channel partner business during the launch and scaling of the first generation of AI developer tools, and spent those years in customer conversations that shaped how enterprises buy, trust, and deploy AI.
At Moderne, Finkelstein will focus on three partnership pillars: go-to-market acceleration with hyperscalers and AI model providers, solution delivery scale through global systems integrators, and regional partnerships that extend Moderne’s reach across enterprise markets.
“Partnerships are not only a sales function. They are how value gets delivered,” said Finkelstein. “If you do not build that into the company from the start, it is very difficult to bolt on later. That is exactly what Moderne is doing here.”
Finkelstein joins as Moderne’s Agent Tools platform continues to expand, with recent launches including Prethink, a structured semantic context layer for coding agents, and TriGrep, a high-speed code search purpose-built for agents. His mandate is to translate that product momentum into enterprise scale through the partner ecosystem.
