Today, The Thiel Foundation has officially unveiled its 2026 class of Thiel Fellows, rewarding an ambitious and bright class of young people ready to disrupt and redesign industries across the United States and the world.
Established in 2011, the two-year Thiel Fellowship awards grants to extraordinary young entrepreneurs, affording them the opportunity to untether themselves from groupthink and traditional tracks. Each fellow in this year’s class will receive an award of $250,000 over the next two years, giving them the time and resources to pursue their groundbreaking endeavors.
Fellows will have access to a valuable network of tech founders, investors, scientists, and former fellows. In return, they must commit to working full-time on their projects, companies, or ideas. The Fellowship prides itself on placing an emphasis on both the individual as well as the project or idea that drove the individual to apply.
“The Boomer career tracks no longer lead anywhere worth going. These Gen Z iconoclasts have chosen their own paths,” said Peter Thiel, Chairman of The Thiel Foundation.
The new class joins over 300 previous fellows. Prior classes include founders of Anthropic, Cognition, Etched, Ethereum, Figma, Fluidstack, Mercor, and Positron. Since the Fellowship’s inception, fellows have founded companies or projects collectively worth hundreds of billions of dollars.
